VISIT
TO THE MONARCH SANCTUARIES: can be done anytime depending on the
availability of our English speaking guide so we need to confirm the date
you would go to the sanctuary. The trip takes several hours.
November to March
ANGANGUEO: Ancient colonial mine town (VERY FANCY)
PYRAMIDS (Zirahuato): (they close at 5 pm). The main Pyramid is the
biggest in America but it’s not uncovered (just looks like a mountain). It’s
right in the Center between the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the end
of the “energetic flows” as highways which follow the Monarch Butterflies
from all over Canada and USA to reach here. It is still a mystery who
built the Pyramid originally, since we known only about the cultures who
used it in more recent times. Other 6 smaller pyramids built in later times
surround the big one. Two of them are already excavated and are very
beautiful. There’s a small museum beside the ruins. The biggest sanctuaries
of Monarch butterflies named “El Rosario” and “Chincua” are located in the
nearby mountains.
CAVES
(Ziranda Cuevas): Very nice short visit natural caves. Outside the
mountain is also breath taking and there´s a strong flow river beside which
completes the very nice natural environment.
HOT
SPRINGS OF LOS AZUFRES: In the cold mountains of beautiful evergreen
trees and hot lakes, there are very hot natural swimming pools.
RIVERS
AND CASCADES: Our specialty in Ecotourism for well physically fit
visitors is walking inside rivers, and visiting natural cascades.
LAKES: This area is plentiful of all sorts of water. There are several
Lakes, rivers and Dams .

SHOPPING DOWNTOWN: It is very easy for you to take the local bus to
Zitácuaro City and also safe. There’s not much to see in the city though,
since it's a commercial place and all is like a big market. You can go to
the main plaza and have a coffee around, or go inside the market where
you’ll be surprised by the variety of fruits, vegetables, breads and many
other supplies. Also some manufactured pottery.
